Unable to Send Out Email because Outlook Automatically Unchecked “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”

We noticed a sudden increased of reports from our clients on problem sending out emails in the past 2-3 weeks.

Upon further investigation, all of the users who experienced such issue are using Outlook as their email software.

Apparently, the option “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” which was previously checked, was suddenly unchecked without their knowledge.

For the time being, we are still not sure why is this happening. However, we suspect there is a bug with latest version of Outlook and the option was unchecked after the software was automatically updated.

Please note that there is no way we can change the settings in your PC software.

So, if you are having trouble sending out email suddenly while using Outlook, remember to re-check this option…

If you don’t have any special reason to use Outlook, please consider switching to our favourite email software; eM Client.
